After three persons were arrested for his ‘murder,a Bajrang Dal activist of Raunahi town in Faizabad district, who went missing on March 21,has been found alive. According to the police,Dinesh had cooked up the story of his murder with the collusion of family members and two friends to get the benefit of his insurance policy.
The incident had led to tension in the town, with Bajrang Dal men blocking the Faizabad-Lucknow highway in protest. With Dinesh being found alive,Bajrang Dal city president Gyan Kesarwani refused to comment, saying,”We are examining the case.” BJP leader Vinay Katiyar replied,”First, let me get full and proper information, then only I can say something”.
Dinesh’s father Jamuna lodged a case of kidnapping and murder against Mohammad Azeem,Shahnaaz Begum and Munne Khan after his clothes were found on the bank of Ghagra river on March 21. He alleged that his son had been killed because of political rivalry. The police promptly arrested all three.
However, the police found the story of Dinesh’s kidnapping and murder suspicious. Faizabad SSP R K S Rathore said they put Dinesh’s missing cellphone under surveillance. In the evening of March 22,a call was made from the number to Dinesh’s uncle. Police traced the location of the cellphone and found Dinesh hiding in Barabanki district on Monday.
Rathore said Dinesh worked as an insurance agent of a private company and had taken a policy in his own name. “He conspired with his friends Ram Chandra and Ramesh to concoct the story of his murder. The plan was that after the family got the money, they would move to some other place and he will assume a new identity,” Rathore said.
The police have arrested Dinesh,Ram Chandra and Ramesh and booked them, along with Dinesh’s father, for fraud, cheating and other offences. Cases have also been registered against those who blocked traffic and 35 of them have been identified. The case lodged against Mohammad Azeem,Shahnaaz Begum and Munne Khan is being dropped, said the SSP.
